Chemical Compliance Policy

Chemical Compliance Policy

Chemical products are present in our daily lives, as well as in the manufacturing, washing, dyeing and printing processes of clothing. Effective and competent management of chemicals is essential to ensure the safe production of materials and their reuse.

MIM is constantly working to ensure that all of our products are safe in production and use. This includes the removal of any hazardous emissions to water, land, and air. Our vision is to transition to safe food and toxic-free fashion as soon as possible, guided by our chemical policy.

This is how MIM will try to pave the way towards our ultimate goal: toxic-free fashion by 2035.

Production transparency: minimization of chemicals used in the production of MIM for commercial goods by 2035. Political participation: promote and support legislation and government policies that promote the progressive regulation and control of chemicals. Buyer Information: Share chemical data with customers, including full public disclosure of greenhouse and wastewater emissions tests performed. Research and improvement of materials: fostering innovation and the development of better chemical materials and technologies throughout the supply chain. Zero Emission: No priority hazardous chemicals are released into the supply chain. 100% Climate Support: Our goal is to achieve 100% recycled or other environmentally friendly materials by 2035 in terms of chemicals (materials and processes).

towards the change

MIM chemical requirements for suppliers are often higher than existing regulations and we are promoting the progressive management of chemicals in our partners' production. No hazardous chemicals should be used in the manufacture or contain any of our products. MIM is fully compliant with the Chemical Restriction List (REACH), which is constantly being updated. Our providers are contracted to comply with this list.

safe products

MIM selects all the materials used very carefully, we try to use only the best materials in its class. We carefully assess risks and use a third-party assessment that takes into account all risks to the environment and human health. This allows us to avoid hazardous substances in production. We define the hazard of each material as persistent, toxic, carcinogenic, reproductive mutagenic, or endocrine disrupting.

MIM plans to implement this program from 2023.
Our commitment to sustainability includes a set of requirements for compliance with chemical restrictions, the safe handling and storage of hazardous substances, and environmental requirements such as wastewater treatment and hazardous waste management.

Compliance with wastewater treatment requirements
Wastewater from our production chain will become cleaner. MIM works with each supplier and analyzes each production involved in our chain, our goal is to help our suppliers to reach 100% of the requirements.
